Description
How can I be sure my baby will stay warm during snow activities like sledding?
Our designers use synthetic wadding made of polyester to keep the body warm. This component traps air depending on its thickness. The thicker the wadding, the more air it holds, making it more insulating. The baby ski suit uses 150 g/m² wadding.
How can I be sure my baby will stay dry during snow activities like sledding?
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in mm of water column (based on ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric is. This suit has a waterproof rating of 2,000 mm, meaning it resists the pressure exerted by 2,000 mm of water, ensuring your baby stays dry.
How to keep your baby’s mittens attached and hands warm and dry?
Use our ingenious system to attach the Decathlon baby mittens to the sleeves of the baby ski suit and Decathlon jacket. With Decathlon’s fun design, your child can attach the mittens themselves by matching the colours and animal heads. The mittens will always be at hand, in the right hand!
How to avoid snow entering after-ski boots?
Position the elastic at the bottom of the baby ski suit over the boots to prevent snow and air from entering the snow boots.
How to dress your baby to stay warm during sledging outings?
To stay warm and dry, follow the 3-layer technical rule:
Layer 1: Thermal underwear, to stay dry.
Layer 2: Insulating layer, to keep the warmth.
Layer 3: Protective layer, to protect from the elements.
What is water repellency?
Water-repellent fabric lets water slide off its surface without absorbing it: the textile doesn’t soak up water, keeping it light and breathable. You will see water droplets bead and run off the fabric. Water repellency is achieved through a treatment applied to the fabric’s exterior, and it needs to be renewed every 3 washes.
How to reactivate water repellency?
To reactivate water repellency, wash the garment inside out on a synthetic program at 30°C with a generous rinse. Use your usual detergent, but no fabric softener. Let the baby ski suit dry completely in the air, laid flat on a drying rack. Finally, turn the garment inside out and tumble dry on a low setting for 10 minutes. The heat will reactivate the fabric’s water-repellent ability.
Where can I write my baby’s name on this ski suit?
There is a designated area where you can write your child’s name to personalize the product. This is very useful for finding the suit at daycare.
Where to store the pacifier on this baby ski suit?
A pocket with a Velcro closure on the chest of the baby ski suit is specially designed to store the pacifier.
How is the waterproofness of this baby ski suit tested?
The waterproofness of the fabric, provided by a coating or membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H20 (water column pressure). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric is. This baby suit is made with a waterproof component coated to a 5,000 mm H20 rating before washing (equivalent to the pressure exerted by a 5-meter water column).
