How is the impermeability of the MH500 kids’ jacket measured?
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in millimeters of water column (based on the JIS 1092 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This waterproof jacket withstands the pressure exerted by 5,000 mm of water (equivalent to about an hour of rainfall). To validate this, the MH500 waterproof jacket was placed under a shower delivering 60 l of water per m² per hour for 1 hour. This test simulates average conditions of a mountain shower.

What makes the MH500 jacket breathable?
The breathability of the fabric is measured by its “Thermal Evaporative Resistance” (RET). This refers to its ability to release water vapor produced by the body during physical activity, preventing the accumulation of moisture on the skin. The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric.

How to care for the MH500 waterproof jacket?

Machine wash (30 to 40°C): Fasten velcro and zips, use mild detergent. Turn jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastic parts.

Avoid overfolding the garment in the machine to prevent damage.

Do not mix with other clothing styles or colors.

Do not use bleach or fabric softener.

Use a thorough rinse cycle and gentle spin.

Air dry or tumble dry on a low heat setting for a minimal duration.
