Waterproofing of the Fabric
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in mm of water column (based on the JIS 1092 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric is. This jacket was tested under 60L of water per square meter per hour for 1 hour, simulating average rainfall in mountainous conditions. A fabric with a 5,000 mm waterproof rating can withstand the pressure of 5,000 mm of water, equivalent to about an hour of rainfall.

Breathability of the Fabric
The breathability is measured by the “Thermal Evaporative Resistance” (RET), which indicates how well the fabric allows body moisture to escape and prevents sweat from building up.

RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric

RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric

RET ≤ 20: moderately breathable fabric

This jacket has a RET of 12.

Fabric Durability
We test fabric durability through abrasion resistance and rubbing tests to ensure the jacket doesn’t pill. Color retention is also tested to prevent dye runoff. Wash aging tests ensure repeated washing doesn’t affect fabric properties, thickness, or appearance.

Care Instructions

Machine wash at 30°C using mild detergent. Turn jacket and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastic parts.

Avoid over-folding the jacket during washing to prevent damage.

Do not mix clothing styles or colors.

Do not use bleach.

Use a gentle rinse cycle and low spin.

Dry on a clothesline or tumble dry on low heat for a short duration.
